There Can Be No Chillin' If We're Killin' The Data

The global warming crowd is getting more and more desperate. Their falsification of data is becoming more and more transparent as they try to salvage what is left of their proselytes and possibly their profits. Take this charlatan for example.
James E. Hansen (born March 29, 1941) heads the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York City, a part of the Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. He has held this position since 1981. He is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Columbia University.

[...]Hansen is best known for his research in the field of climatology, his testimony on climate change to congressional committees in 1988 that helped raise broad awareness of global warming, and his advocacy of action to avoid dangerous climate change. In recent years, Hansen has become an activist for action to mitigate the effects of climate change, which on a few occasions has led to his arrest.
And he is a tree hugging, carbon trading, Al Gore channeling, lying asshole. He is going back into historical government climate data and deliberately changing it.

From Real Science:
Hansen has been deleting cooling trends all over the planet. The image above compares current GISS 1950-1998 trends, with those he published in 1999. He has erased historical cooling trends (blue) in North America, South America, Africa, the Arctic, Antarctica, and elsewhere.

He also has created data in the southern hemisphere which didn’t previously exist. Note how the area of grey has shrunk.

The color scales are shifted, but the legends are located below the maps – and you can see that the values have changed. The circle over Africa has changed from a -0.5C to -0.3C cooling trend, into a warming trend.
Why isn't he in jail? It seems that only scientists and politicians can lie and misrepresent publically owned information during the course of their official duties and not go to jail for it.

Of course this is what happens when scientists want to be politicians and politicians want to pretend they're scientists.
